Thomas Nevitt III was hired as a Residential Project Manager with the Hal Collums Team at the end of 2008 during a busy time for the company. His has experience in residential construction, with thirteen years in the field as well as six years of sales and estimating experience.

Thomas’ first assignment with Hal Collums Construction was managing a Julia Street gallery renovation for a longtime client. Once he finished that job in record time he was on to even bigger projects. Next came the Flightline First airline terminal at the New Orleans Lakefront Airport. Then Thomas began overseeing the millwork installation at the National World War II Museum expansion. While working on these projects Thomas has gained knowledge of a large variety of intricate details and specialty products including exotic hardwoods, veneers, stainless steel, custom resin and even fiber optic lighting.

Recently, Mr. Nevitt has been promoted to Mill Shop Manager for Central City Millworks. His daily tasks in the mill shop include overall management of the Mill Shop’s workload and labor force, productivity and quality assurance as well as daily safety. He has also been instrumental in initiating new protocols and procedures for maximizing the quality of service and products that Central City Millworks can and will provide for New Orleans in the future. He has worked well with the company’s team, and has a bright future with Central City Millworks.

Bartell Tapp moved to New Orleans from Texas in 2003 – “just in time to get settled in before Katrina hit.” His friends and family tried to convince him to move back to Texas after the storm but his love for his adopted city and his desire to be part of the rebuilding effort gave him the conviction to stay.

He started working part time for Central City Millworks in 2006 as an outside sales representative while also running his own company which specialized in buying and selling antique reclaimed heart pine, cypress, and brick. In June of 2009 Bartell began working full time for CCM handling both inside and outside sales for the mill and locating and negotiating purchases of the heart pine we use to mill our flooring. His experience with reclaimed heart pine made him a natural fit for our flooring business but he has also become thoroughly versed in all the products we fabricate at CCM.

Bartell really enjoys working with the customer from the time of the first inquiry until the job is complete and he takes great satisfaction in his growing list of repeat customers. He shares the same philosophy as CCM that no job is too small and every customer is important.

” I had the advantage of working with Bartell as a client before the storm and I was impressed with Bartell’s great customer service. He paid attention to detail and he doggedly followed up to make sure I was satisfied as a customer. I knew that he would be a valuable addition to our company and I was very happy when we agreed to come to work with us full time.” – Hal Collums
